Giggleland Tips for a First Playthrough

Giggleland tips for your first run: how long it is, how the chapters and puzzles work, controller support, the chase scenes and what the first hotfix changed.

These Giggleland tips cover what a first-time player should know before starting the Steam horror game from Hooked (published by Gamincat, Inc.). It is a first-person psychological mascot horror game with puzzles, a few chase scenes and one little girl, Tolie, looking for her father in an empty theme park. Nothing below spoils the story beyond chapter names.

Giggleland tips before you start

The basics, from the Steam store page and the official gameplay trailer:

  • Length: about six hours according to Steam. Unedited YouTube runs with little or no commentary finish in roughly 2 hours 8 minutes to 2 hours 32 minutes, so a blind first run with puzzle hunting sits somewhere in between.
  • Structure: one complete game in eight chapters. The developers say there are no additional chapters coming.
  • Players: single player only.
  • Language: English only for the interface, voice audio and subtitles.
  • Price: $19.99, or $17.99 with the 10% launch offer until November 2, 2026. Buy it on Steam; there is no free version of the full game.
  • Achievements: none at launch.

The chapter names below come from four YouTube chapter lists. The Steam puzzle guide calls Chapter 6 "After Hours", and one video calls Chapter 4 "The Backstage".

ChapterName
1Tolie's House
2Pipes
3Terry's House
4Corridors
5Rory's Rally
6Outside
7Tunnels
8The Castle

Chapters 2 and 3 take place on the farm and in the house of Farmer Terry. For a chapter-by-chapter route, use the Giggleland walkthrough. Before buying, check the Giggleland system requirements: Steam lists Windows only and 25 GB of storage.

Controls and controller support

Steam lists full controller support, including DualShock and DualSense pads, so you can play the whole game on a gamepad. No source has published a full key list yet. The puzzle steps players describe use the usual first-person set: sprint, crouch, jump, push crates, climb ladders and interact. Some interactions need you to hold the button rather than tap it; one player says the Rory plush string needs about seven seconds of holding, with no meter on screen.

Some players report camera shaking from Chapter 4 onward.

Giggleland tips for puzzles

Players on Steam complain that the game gives little guidance, so these Giggleland tips for puzzles save the most time:

  • Timed levers: pull the longest timer first. Several chapters ask you to pull three levers before they reset. Each lever stays active for a different time, so start with the one that lasts longest and finish with the one that lasts only a few seconds.
  • Read printed tickets and posters. In Chapter 2 a printed ticket shows a picture of what to find next. Wall art, posters and paintings often hold the numbers for codes.
  • Breaker boxes have a set order. Flipping switches at random rarely works; follow the order the puzzle guides give.
  • If you are stuck on the farm, a player says pressing the button at the front diorama can move things along.

Our Giggleland puzzles page lists every solved puzzle by chapter. The two puzzles most players search for are the Giggleland safe code in Terry's House and the Giggleland colored button puzzle in the final chapter.

Chases and scares

Is Giggleland scary? Yes. Sources describe jumpscares, chase sequences and death scenes, and YouTubers have made whole videos of its jumpscares. In Chapter 5 an animatronic Rory chases you, and getting too close is an instant game over. That room also uses flashing red lights.

Content warning: the Steam page says the game is not suitable for children. Expect jumpscares, chases, strobing light, glitch effects, in-game screenshots and themes of missing and endangered children. If the screenshot tricks worry you, read is Giggleland a virus before you play.

Bugs and the first hotfix

Hotfix v1.0.1 arrived on October 27, 2026. It fixed major visual bugs in Chapters 5 to 7, fixed lighting and HDR, adjusted the Chapter 2 puzzles, fixed glitches in the final chapter puzzles and raised frame rates in Chapters 2, 3 and 7 by roughly 30 to 40%. The last Giggleland tips are launch-day reports worth knowing:

  • The Chapter 4 warehouse has no checkpoint, and falling through a glitch can send you a long way back.
  • The Chapter 6 Ferris wheel area went fully dark for many players before the hotfix.
  • An invisible wall near the Chapter 5 vehicle lift can cost you seconds on a timed run, so go around it.
  • If the Chapter 6 ticket will not drop from the coin pusher, players say the game respawns a spare token at one of the early token spots.

Steam reviews were Mixed (63% of 334 positive) on October 28, 2026.
