Ella in Giggleland
Ella is Eliot's best friend in the in-universe cartoon Eliot and Ella, and the other half of Giggleland's mascot pair. In a pre-release teaser she grows scared of Eliot. In the full game she matters most near the end: at the stairs her voice tells Tolie to go right, and ignoring her to go through Eliot's door is how you reach the secret ending.

Ella and the secret ending
The choice at the stairs is the one branch in the main story that sources document. Follow Ella and you continue to the main ending. Go through Eliot's door instead, and keep trying when it sends you back, and the fourth attempt opens the hospital scene of the secret ending. The endings guide lists every ending and how to reach it.
What kind of animal Ella is, and her role beyond the stairs, is not described in any source we can cite yet.
